'Jersey girl' FAD

Fashion Awareness Direct definatly kick started my fashion career back in 2008, when I was awarded the winning place in their annual prestigious design competition. I like to keep them up to date with what I'm doing... so I sent them a copy of my SS12 lookbook, and here is their response....

Studio Space Inspiration

Whilst on a serious Autumn/Winter 2012 researching roll today, I found myself looking at a lot of random things including art, design, architecture, fashion, film, furniture, people, photography, typography, travel.... the list goes on. One thing I got stuck on for a while though was interior and product design, probably my second greatest love next to fashion.

(I think this fixation may have been triggered by the most amazing old manual singer sewing machine I found in the greatest junk shop in the world the other day, and I literally can't stop thinking about buying it - so beautiful)

However, while I decide weather or not to buy, I found a few inspiring images of studio spaces.
A few simple things like painting some old vintage chairs, framing a mood board with a distressed wooden frame, collection some retro pencil pots and maybe buying some fresh flowers once in a while, these things make such a difference to creating an exciting work space, which I consider vital to any designer.

When I first joined this fantastic website www.notjustalabel.com aimed at discovering and supporting up and coming talented designers, I uploaded my university collection and dreamed of being on the front cover one day.

I had been waiting for this moment since I graduated in 2008 .... That day finally arrived on Thursday 18th August 2011 when Alicia Stone is not only on the front cover of the HUGE international fashion website NJAL, but also invited to set up online shop! : )

Coming soon to a boutique near you...

Since the release of my lookbooks across the country, it has taken no less than 5 days for the debut SS12 Alicia Stone collection to gain quite a following... Having received some great feedback from blogs, buyers, boutiques, private clients, friends and of course my family, I am bursting with excitement for the official release of the collection next feb/march.

Following communications with some potential stockists, I am hopeful that my collection will be available at a boutique near you...
